Z-mat Library

Z-mat is a user-extendable, object-oriented material modeling library and development environment for use in mechanical behavior simulation, characterization, and finite element analysis. The material model library is standard with the Zebulon FEA solver on all common UNIX and Win32 platforms, and as an extension to other general-purpose codes supporting a user material interface (see availability below).

Availability

• For ABAQUS. Z-mat and all the associated modules are available for use with ABAQUS on SGI IRIX 6.x, Solaris, Digital UNIX, IBM AIX, and HP-UX PA-RISC-1,2.
• For COSMOS/M. Win32 platforms (Windows NT 4.0 and up).
• For ANSYS. SGI IRIX, IRIX64, 64 bit SunOS, AIX, and Win32 platforms (Windows NT 4.0 and up).
• For MARC. SGI IRIX systems are supported.

A compiler is not required for basic use. For user developments a C++ compiler is required, as specified by the main FEA code vendor. For use with Z-set, versions are available for native machine compilers and the GNU gcc compiler.
