Our DNA

And what sustains us

Download Infosheet

Material behavior is at the heart of performance of existing and yet-to-be-designed engineering components. Historical over-design of components has given way to optimal design for targeted functional behavior in recent times, for instance light-weighting of automotive parts, thus pushing the boundary of the iterative cycle of design, analysis and manufacturing of a component.

At NW Numerics, we specialize in crucial multi-disciplinary aspects of a material behavior:

  • understanding micro-structures that result in macroscopic physical behavior of the part,
  • coming up with a new, or a variation of an existing material model to capture this behavior, and
  • predicting behavior of the part in deployment using reliable numerical algorithms and tools.

In order to get value out of your simulations, the data you feed into FE programs must be reliable. Also the material parameters should reflect nuanced aspects of a given behavior, for instance when the ductility of a metal changes with a slight variation of an alloy content. Therefore we perform V&V (Verification and Validation) of both metals and polymers, in our own testing lab.

Through our multi-disciplinary roles in Material Science/Engineering, Testing, Numerical Methods and Software, we make your simulations reliable.
