NWN Zébulon

This is our finite element development platform for all NWN Z-mat modules. It consists of numerical integrators of equations of motion, associated controls, and linear algebraic solvers, in order to solve nonlinear engineering and material problems.

The finite element library supports the necessary advanced formulations to complement the material models in order to assist simulation solutions in the areas of fracture, failure and damage mechanics. The formulations include, but not limited to, hybrid pressure-displacement elements, periodic elements, and higher-order continua incorporating the Cosserat theory.

NW Numerics’ 8.3 version is based on “Z-SET Base” from the early 2000s. The initial author of Z-SET Base is the Centre des Materiaux d’Evry, common research center of Mines ParisTech and Armines.
